I get to learn new things and see different random stuff like all the time!!!!!!! Today, I learned how to play ping-pong and billards! That was awesome, now I can add two more activites to my list of things to do. I think the best part about playing ping-pong is when Liz, went for the kill and hit the ball, and I seen my life flash right in front of me !!!!!!!!! That was the greatest, I had so much fun, and would really love to do it again. Man, I am so excited for our trip on Thursday to Chicago, I definitely will have to post, everything that went on there. And the most important thing, about this week...... PAY DAY!!!!!!!!!! How many people never really knew, the trur meaning of a reflecting pool!!! Well at least I didn't!!!! But anyways, Felicia told me that it is a place, where people can come and sit and remember or dwell on the death of people. So it is like you are REFLECTING on the death or memories!!!!! All that time, I thought it meant that it reflected an image, but then I thought it doesn't really reflect. Then I thought, wait all pools have some kind of reflection!!!!!!! I finally found a topic that works. My topic will be based on the Sierra Leonean Tragedy. This is where adults used child soldiers to guard people that mined for diamonds. This is once again a tragic and gloomy topic, but I have always wondered about it since Kanye West made that one song.

Pham, Peter J. Child Soldiers, Adult Interests: The Global Dimensions of the Sierra Leonean Tragedy. It goes through the different stages of events that have happened in Sierra Leone. It gives a close look at the tragedy and sort of explains the whole incident. But, that is what happens when you don't think smart or pay attention to what you are doing.

Anyways, I don't really have an definite idea of what I want my research project to be on yet. But I do think that it is going to be about youth and violence. I know this seems like a gloomy or depressing topic, but living in my generation, it a everyday issue that continues to get worse more by the minute. I really just want to know where it all stemmed from and is there anybody trying to stop this corrupt behavior. I know this is a very broad topic, but I know it will eventually narrow down or even change by time we are done with the whole project. It is just one of those step by step processes, that has to develop in itself.

It's kind of funny

Well It's kind of funny, how everyday I eat lunch by myself because I didn't know all the other kids have lunch at the same time and I thought that they be off on their own thing and wouldn't want to eat lunch with me, but it turns out that basically everyone else eats lunch by themselves too, and be thinking the same thing I be thinking the whole time. It's also kind of funny how many Washington High School Alumni students (if I can say Alumni) work here!!! I mean I see somebody new everyday. I must admit it was quite interesting!! I really enjoyed having time to chat with my pal Erin since we haven't talked or seen each other since school was out. Also it was weird because I recognized one of the students from Valpo and I think they recognized me too, but we never actually got a chance to talk. I think the thing that surprised me the most out of the whole day was seeing how small IUSB Library was compared to Notre Dame. I think during the whole tour I realized how much I actually like working at Notre Dame!!!

Go ND!!!!!

Working at a library

Working at a library has definitely been a weird experience. It is surprisingly funny or shocking that not all librarians are creepy, but most of them are very down to earth. One thing that I have found in common is they all love to talk and eat. Also they are so friendly and nice. But don't get me wrong some of them do come off like, Okay can you please get out of my face or can you please just shut up!! Maybe I just am a little cranky at the time but I must say that it is a pretty cool job.

Just another day at work

Well today is my 5th day and I must say I am kind of glad. Working at the library is cool, but you always have to do the most tedious jobs. Plus, by me being a student worker, it seems like just save those jobs for you to do. I mean I can't complain, everybody is extremely nice and really laid back. But, it is just those times when your mind starts to think, "Man, I could be at home chilling on the couch and watching tv like my friends." Or there are those times when you be like I woke up at 7:00 in the morning for this. But as stated before, I don't want to seem ungrateful or even selfish it just gets a little old quick and I just started!!! Man, this is going to be my whole summer. Yeah for me!!! Well, I least it pays good.
